Today is March 01, 2019. Here in the Philippines the month of March is the annual celebration for Women. The Women’s Month Celebration is part of the Observance on the International Women Day.

The Philippine Commission on Women(PCW) as a government agency task for their mission to focused on the empowerment of Women and girls.  The PCW choose through their Technical working group the theme for this year until year 2022 as  ”We Make Change Work for Women”.

It was excellent that in our country we have this agency tasked to lead for the empowerment of Women and girl. For this our fellow women and girls in our country continuously to be empowered and participate for the progress of our country.

To make more emphasized and to understand the meaning and definition of Women Empowerment. Let’s define the meaning of Women Empowerment… I made a little bit of research for the definition of what is meant about women empowerment.

          What is empowerment?...

In Oxford Dictionary. Empowerment define as the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.

And what is Women empowerment all about. According to Wikipedia Women empowerment is define as {1} The process in which women elaborate and recreate what it is that they can be do and accomplished in a circumstances that they previously were denied.  {2} Women empowerment means accepting and allowing people (women) who are on the outside of the decision-making process into it. {3}Empowerment includes the action of raising the status of women through education, raising awareness, literacy, and training. {4} Women's empowerment is all about equipping and allowing women to make life-determining decisions through the different problems in society.

There are several principles of defining Women empowerment. The first one is for the Women to be empowered, they must come from a position of disempowerment. Second is that one must acquire empowerment themselves rather have it given by an external party and the last is that empowerment and is empowerment is relative to other at previous time, therefore empowerment is a process not a products.

Through this process, women and girls will be given a chance to be recognize, her talent and skills in any aspect in the society. Breaking the so called old label that women and girls were just be left from home to take care their husband and their children. Time goes by proving that women are also has courage to be part and to lead the society. Women is part of the working force of the society. Being also as income earners for their family as well as men do. Women must be given equal rights in the society.

Lets us get involved and support advocacy to empower women and girls by spreading the good ideas to our fellow women and girl to be empowered by knowing our rights and fighting for it.

Let us be an advocate for empowering women and girl in our day to day lives and for the benefit of our family, for our country and for the next generation.

For my fellow women and girls out there…let us help one another and support the Advocacy for the empowerment of our fellows for our future generation...

To my fellow women…
Happy Women’s Month Celebration”
